or you can type at a command line "systeminfo" and it will show you uptime along with updates and more. (XP pro only)

thefixitman-
systeminfo shows the install date/time not the uptime since last reboot.

a critical system-
Actually, on XP PRO(as specified), it shows both.

C:\Documents and Settings\username>systeminfo

Original Install Date: 7/4/2008, 2:57:23 PM
System Up Time: 1 Days, 22 Hours, 14 Minutes, 2 Seconds

Your example displays it a bit different.

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\username>net statistics workstation
Workstation Statistics for \\SYSTEM

Statistics since 9/17/2008 9:17
PM

Either way is acceptable, it just depends on how you want the answer formatted.

Generally, however, the expected output for system uptime is displayed as Days,Hours,Minutes,Seconds since last reboot.
